Seven Loaves Travel and Tours is located in the heart of the Harbour city of Accra -Tema metropolis, established in 1999 and licensed by the Ghana Tourist Board, has been operating in activities regarding international and local tours.   :: ABOUT GHANA ::
 
GHANA is bounded on the south by the Atlantic Oceans and on the West by La Cote dIvoire, the East by Togo and the North by Burkina Faso.

Ghana is a tropical country. The South Western part is located within the warm wet forest zone similar to the Amazon. The capital is Accra. The rains last from April to June. Generally temperatures are between 21 – 32C. The rest of the year is hot and dry.

Ghanaians are Africas friendliest people, fun-loving, cheerful people who are proud of their country, its languages , traditions and standing are keen that the visitor should understand and appreciate what the country has to offer. It is a free and independent society where much emphasis is placed on courtesy and politeness

Several international airlines : Ghana International Airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa, KLM and several others including some domestic Airlines flying between Accra, Kumasi, Sunyani and Tamale.

:: VISAS
Ghana Missions and Embassies abroad will assist in issuing individuals as well as group Visas.

:: HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
Carry along your health certificate which shows that you have a yellow fever vaccination. You are also advised to consult your doctor well in advance of your visit so that you may begin tour usual anti-malaria treatment.

:: ELECTRICITY
Ghana operates on 220 – 240 volts

:: DRINKING WATER
Safe but it is advisable for visitors to use bottled drinking water which is available for sale in hotel and supermarkets.

:: CURRENCY
Ghanas currency is the cedi. Ghanas currency can be freely transacted at any Forex Bureaux in the country and some commercial Banks as well.

:: TRAVELLERS CHEQUES
All banks and some forex bureaux accepts travelers cheques.

:: CREDIT CARDS
The most widely accepted credit cards are American Express, Diners, and Visa

  • Kokrobite Beach Resort, 25 Km west of Accra, Kokrobite is also home to the Academy of Africa Music and Arts.
  • Ada, popular resort area and a fovoutite base for water sports and game fishing.
  • Shai Resource Reserve, the conservation area in Shai Hills, commitment to the preservation of its natural heritage and wildlife.
  • University of Ghana, its premier centre of higher education, it was founded in 1948, set in beautiful gardens, it also house school of performing arts and the Balme Library.

A popular feature of Ghana is the great many annual festivals held around the country, for the most part joyous affairs when locals dress up in their finest traditional attire and tourist are welcome to join in.
 
Bakatue-Opening of the Lagoon, Elmina, first Tuesday of July.    
Asafo Tufiam- indigenous warriors celebration, Ada Foah, starts last Thursday of July.    
Homowo- Hooting of hunger, Accra, August – September.    
Odwira- Asantes most important festival, Kumasi, September.    
Fetu Afahye- colourful parade, Cape Coast, First Saturday of September.    
Hogbetsotso- Anlo Volta Region, 1 st Saturday in November.    
 
:: HISTORICAL PLACES
 

Cape Coast Castle , whose gloomy slave dungeons, connected by a dark subterranean tunnel to the “ Door of No Return” pay somber testament to its 18 th century role as Africans most important slave trading post.

Assin Manso, where captives from the north took their “last bath” at the Nnonkonsuo River before being sold to coastal traders.

Boabeng Fiema, is a twin village where monkeys live happily with human beings, The monkeys, about 200 Colobus Monkeys and 500 Mona monkeys, have enjoyed the hospitality of the village folk, who have held the monkeys sacred for over 150 years.

Wli Falls , 20 km from Hohoe, in the Wli Nature reserve.
